Most vinyl is waterproof in addition to being durable enough to withstand heavy traffic. However, it still needs routine care and maintenance to keep it looking its best!
Daily care & maintenance
For daily upkeep, sweep, damp mop, or use a manufacturer-approved vacuum cleaner without a beater bar. Place all heavy furniture on protective mats or pads to avoid scratching your flooring. Place doormats or area rugs throughout your home so you and your guests can also avoid tracking abrasives across your new flooring such as outdoor dirt, soil and debris.
Dealing with spills & stains
Vinyl flooring is waterproof, but it is still important to wipe up spills and messes as quickly as possible. Wipe away liquid spills and other common messes with a clean cloth but refer to your manufacturer’s guidelines for taking care of tougher messes such as wax or nail polish. If using any cleaning products, make sure those are manufacturer-approved as well. Neil’s carries several manufacturer approved cleaning products including Mannington, Congoleum, Shaw and Karndean.
